Dental prosthetics deals with reconstruction or replacement of fractured or missing teeth.

Even loss of one tooth has a significant impact on the stomognathic system. It not only changes our appearance, but also our oral cavity. Neighbouring teeth drift and shift towards the gap, opposing teeth supererupt and the remaining teeth are put under excessive pressure which eventually leads to their loss.

Failure to replace extracted teeth causes bone loss and prevents the temporomandibular joints from working correctly.

Other consequences, apart from aesthetics, may include: oral hygiene and articulation problems, hypersensitivity to hot and cold and parafunctional habits such as bruxism.

Remember that each missing tooth needs to be replaced as soon as possible.
